Lestat
estat’s story began when he was found as a stray and brought to the shelter. As an older gentleman, we knew right away that he deserved a second chance—a warm bed, a full belly, and the love he had likely been missing for so long.
When Maison stepped in, it was clear that Lestat had significant medical issues. He had severe cataracts, painful dental disease, skin issues, arthritis, and a misaligned jaw. He was rushed to CARES, where he received immediate medical attention.
Lestat underwent a dental procedure to remove his infected teeth, and his jaw was thoroughly evaluated. Thankfully, it wasn’t broken—just naturally misaligned, likely from birth or worsened by his dental disease. He was also treated for flea allergic dermatitis and started on medications for arthritis to help keep him comfortable.
Now, Lestat is doing wonderfully—he may not see as well as he used to, but that doesn’t stop him from enjoying his days filled with love, snuggles, and furry companionship. Given his age and health, he has been placed in fospice care, where he will be cherished and pampered for as long as he has left.
