Etoile

Etoile's journey with Maison Sûre Foundation began in early May when she was rescued from the shelter. At the time, we didn't know if we were bringing her home to help her recover or simply to ensure that her final days would be surrounded by love instead of loneliness.

She arrived in heartbreaking condition. Etoile was severely underweight, anemic, exhausted, and carrying a massive ulcerated mammary tumor, along with another mass on her chest. She was immediately transported to CARES, where she spent several weeks receiving intensive medical treatment, including blood transfusions, IV antibiotics, pain management, and around-the-clock care to stabilize her fragile condition.

Once she was strong enough, Dr. Williams performed surgery to remove her tumor and spay her. While the surgery was successful, biopsy results confirmed that the cancer had already spread. More recently, additional X-rays revealed that the cancer has progressed to her lungs.

Despite her diagnosis, Etoile has never let cancer define her.

Today, she is living exactly as every dog deserves—in a loving fospice home where she is cherished every single day. She enjoys leisurely walks, excitedly accepts pup cups, naps in cozy beds, soaks up the sunshine, and spends her days surrounded by people who love her unconditionally. Her foster family has given her something she may have never known before: the comfort and security of a real home.

Etoile reminds us that hospice is not about giving up—it is about giving everything. Every tail wag, every cuddle, every adventure, and every peaceful nap is a reminder that quality of life matters.

While we know our time with Etoile is limited, our promise to her is unwavering. She will never again know fear, neglect, or pain without comfort. Instead, she will spend the rest of her days wrapped in love, dignity, and compassion.

Etoile may have come to us as a hospice dog, but she has become so much more. She is a beautiful reminder that every life, no matter how long, is worth saving, celebrating, and loving.
