Our Board of Directors

Sabine Roseman, RVT, President

Jessie Elinor Coleman

A lifelong animal advocate, foster and rescuer, Jessie found Maison Sûre through a tiny 1.5-pound Pomeranian named Ozzy who was being surrendered for euthanasia after suffering unimaginable neglect. Despite multiple broken limbs, severe medical issues and ultimately an amputation, Maison Sûre saw what Jessie saw: a life worth saving.

Ozzy became her soulmate affectionately known as “Emperor Ozmond” and spent his second chance being loved, spoiled and adored everywhere he went. His remarkable spirit became a powerful example of Maison Sûre’s belief that illness, age and neglect should never equal a death sentence.

With a professional background in entertainment PR, marketing, fundraising and work with family estate offices and donor-advised funds, Jessie now brings that experience and her lifelong passion for animals to our Board. She has fostered 15 dogs in the past two years, eight through Maison Sûre, and continues to advocate for the animals who need second chances most.

Dr. Emily Chapel, DVM, DCVIM (Caridology)

Dr. Emily Chapel is originally from Michigan and attended Michigan State University, graduating summa cum laude with a Bachelors degree in Veterinary Technology and later as valedictorian of her Veterinary Medicine class in 2013. Emily completed a one-year rotating internship in small animal medicine and surgery at The Ohio State University. She stayed on for a three-year residency in Cardiology and completed a Masters degree in veterinary science with a research focus that was on canine mitral valve disease.  She moved to Culver City, CA with her husband in 2017 and has fallen in love with Southern California. She opened Pure Animal Cardiology because she wanted to create a specialty clinic where pet owners felt directly involved in the care of their pets with complete transparency.

Clinically, Emily enjoys diagnosing and managing heart diseases and working closely with both the pet’s family and primary care veterinarians to optimize therapy and improve outcomes. She also enjoys working with rescue organizations and shelters to provide low-cost specialty services.

Outside of the hospital, Emily enjoys strength training, traveling, and spending time with her two children, Caroline and Benoit, her husband, Laurent, and her pets Atis, Birdie, and Mouse. She still makes it back to Michigan every chance she gets.

Amanda Guest

Amanda brings a unique combination of frontline rescue experience, canine behavioral expertise, and a deep understanding of family dynamics.

Her rescue journey began as a transporter, traveling more than 400,000 miles across North America and helping relocate over 500 dogs from high-risk environments. Wanting to better support dogs whose behavioral challenges stood between them and permanent homes, Amanda pursued formal canine behavioral education alongside her B.S. in Youth and Family Administration from Purdue University.

Since joining Maison Sûre a year ago, Amanda has become an important behavioral strategist, developing decompression programs, behavioral profiles, and structured support for dogs with reactivity, trauma, and complex needs. Her work also helps foster families and adopters gain the tools and confidence needed to create lasting, stable homes.

As a board member, Amanda will help strengthen our foster network, behavioral resources, post-adoption support, and long-term rescue strategy.

Outside of rescue, Amanda enjoys time with her fosters, family, partner Wren, and friends—as well as singing, traveling, rock climbing, hiking, and fire dancing.
